Bad Hönningen
Bad Hönningen lies between Linz and Neuwied on the Middle Rhine. The first thing you see is the industrial area where carbonic acid is won. This might mislead you at first. Carbonic acid has been extracted here for quite some time and in very large amounts. However, when the visitor actually enters the Bad Hönningen, he finds himself in a typical little Rhine town with cosy lanes and lots of nooks and crannies inviting you to have a stroll. All streets and lanes lead to the Rhine, where you will find the Kristall-Rheinpark Therme. The therme has been lavishly reconstructed in Venetian style and offers wonderful thermal baths and different therapies within its rooms of marble and crystal décor. Even the Romans would have been impressed. The famous Roman-Germanic “Limes” begins here with the watchtower no. 1 between Rheinbrohl and Bad Hönningen. From the Rheinpark Therme with its luxurious décor you can look onto the vineyards, forests and Arenfels Palace which has recently had a “facelift” in yellow and belongs to Bad Hönningen like Romanticism to the Rhine.
