ROMANTICUM
Zentralplatz 1, 56068 Koblenz
In the Romanticum, which opened in 2013, visitors go on board a virtual ship on a multimedia journey through the Rhine through the UNESCO World Heritage “Upper Middle Rhine Valley” that is unique in Germany. In ten independent, differently designed exhibition areas with more than 70 interactive stations, passengers experience the unique landscape of the UNESCO World Heritage and get to know the Rhine with all its facets, sagas, sights and legends.
Every single item in the exhibition is unique and specially developed for the Romanticum. Here the visitors decide for themselves what they want to see and hear. The Romanticum is an exhibition where you can get creative yourself, do handicrafts, take photos and even sing. Here you will meet personalities who were closely connected to the Rhine, from Goethe to Heine, from Queen Augusta to Queen Victoria. You will discover the world of Rhine wine and the culinary delights that the river and its banks have to offer, or you will be enchanted by the fabulous Loreley and share the fate of many Rhine captains, who forever fell in love with their voice and their beauty.
