The onion market, also called "Zwibbelsmaat", is the biggest festival in Bad Breisig
Since the Middle Ages, a particle of the Holy Cross has been shown in the parish for veneration on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross.
The market traders followed the pilgrims - this is how the traditional Breisiger "Zwibbelsmaat" came about.
