Geysir Andernach
Konrad-Adenauer-Allee 40, 56626 Andernach
Geysers are commonly known from volcanic areas as hot water columns. The fascinating fountain in Andernach, however, is a cold water geyser – at up to 60 meters, the highest in the world. It erupts in the midst of a fenced nature reserve on the Namedyer Werth peninsula, which is only accessible by ship from the Rhine. A visit to the "hot spot" begins with a trip to the Geysir Museum, where experiments and exhibits on volcanism are presented. After that, visitors stroll to the Andernach dock and take a boat to the peninsula. After the eruption, guests return by excursion steamer.
