Geysir Andernach

Konrad-Adenauer-Allee 40, 56626 Andernach

The Andernach Geyser is the highest cold water geyser in the world, reaching up to 60 meters. The visit combines the interactive geyser museum with a boat trip to the protected peninsula Namedyer Werth and the observation of the eruption.

Geysers are commonly known from volcanic areas as hot water columns. The fascinating fountain in Andernach, however, is a cold water geyser – at up to 60 meters, the highest in the world. It erupts in the midst of a fenced nature reserve on the Namedyer Werth peninsula, which is only accessible by ship from the Rhine. A visit to the "hot spot" begins with a trip to the Geysir Museum, where experiments and exhibits on volcanism are presented. After that, visitors stroll to the Andernach dock and take a boat to the peninsula. After the eruption, guests return by excursion steamer.
