Tips for Children

Exploring the Middle Rhine Valley is child’s play

The Middle Rhine Valley is full of surprises. There’s plenty of fun and fantastic adventures waiting for you here.

Have you ever wanted to be a medieval knight or the lord or lady of a castle for a morning? Most castles on the Rhine are open to the public and invite you to get a taste of medieval life behind their thick defense walls. But you also have the chance to explore, experiment and discover at the exhibitions and museums in the Middle Rhine Valley. There are special guided tours for children and families, workshops and holiday programmes on offer - not only on rainy days, but as welcome alternatives to playgrounds etc.

Summer or winter, sunshine or rain – the ultimate in family fun is just waiting for you, here in the Middle Rhine Valley!

Information on Coronavirus

Dear visitors,
please note that due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the relevant hygiene and protective measures are still in place. This can include measures such as the provision of disinfectant, the wearing of a face mask to cover mouth and nose, as well as the management of access by means of admission control/appointment systems. Gatherings of people in front of or inside the buildings must be avoided. In addition, a required minimum distance of 1.5 metres between two people still applies. There is a limited maximum permitted number of people inside the buildings.
We would therefore advise you to allow a little more time for your visit.
