The Landesmuseum Koblenz is located in the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. In four exhibition buildings, permanent and temporary exhibitions are presented – there is something for every area of interest as well as for young and old. One of the focuses is on cultural and economic history, highlighting developments that changed the world from Rhineland-Palatinate. In the House of Enjoyment, viticulture is examined as a significant economic sector of the region, and the topic of photography is also addressed in a permanent exhibition. This exhibition provides an overview of the history of the medium from its beginnings to the present. In cooperation with the State Archaeology Department, traces of human life along the Middle Rhine and Moselle since prehistoric times are presented in a permanent exhibition at the House of Archaeology.
