Kath. Pfarrkirche Peter und Paul

Kirchstraße 5, 55424 Münster- Sarmsheim

There are no written records about the construction of the church. According to the markings on the old tower of the parish church, which was completely destroyed by bombs in World War II, it can be assumed that the construction of the cathedral, from which the village of Münster derived its name, took place in 1066.

The Church of St. Peter and Paul is centrally located in the Münster district on Rheinstraße, opposite the newly designed Lindenplatz and the freshly renovated historic town hall. The history of the parish church is closely intertwined with the history of the local community and has been shaped by destruction, reconstruction, and renovations up to the recent past.
The oldest part of the Catholic parish church, dating back to the 12th century, is Romanesque. The nave was built in the 15th century. The church contains the only late Gothic stained glass windows in the Nahe Valley.
