As part of the State Garden Show 2008, the Binger Rhine Promenade was transformed into a blooming "Cultural Shore." From the ferry terminal in the harbor to the Rhine-Nahe corner, a lush sea of flowers accompanies the three-kilometer-long footpath. The listed former electricity plant from 1898 near the mouth of the Nahe is now home to the Historical Museum on the River. The exhibits recall the history of the city of Bingen and the times of Rhine Romanticism. Above all, however, the museum is dedicated to Saint Hildegard of Bingen.

Below the mouth of the Nahe, the park at the Mouse Tower adjoins. Trees provide cooling shade, colorful flowerbeds exude aromatic scents, and meadows invite for a cozy picnic. A skate park, beach volleyball and basketball courts, as well as a large playground are popular meeting spots. Natural riverbank areas serve as retreats for endangered animal and plant species. A rocky island in the river rises up with the Binger Mouse Tower. It marks the entrance of the Rhine into the narrow, rocky UNESCO World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley.
