Landschaftspark Loreleyblick Maria Ruh
Loreleystr. 20, 55430 Urbar
From the viewpoint "Maria Ruh," a magnificent view is offered of the opposite Loreley rock, deep down to the narrowest point of the Rhine and further downstream to the castles Katz and Maus. The area of the viewpoint was transformed into a landscape park in the year 2005. A monument commemorates the fathers of the Loreley song: the poets Clemens Brentano and Heinrich Heine, as well as the composer Friedrich Silcher. The name of the place is derived from Saint Mary. The viewpoint is an expression of the polarity between the two female figures, who symbolize on the one hand the threatening shore (Loreley) and on the other the calm shore (Maria Ruh). The area is located directly on the Rhine castles path, the dream loop Middle Rhine, and the UNESCO World Heritage Trail.
