Zentralplatz 1, 56068 Koblenz
The Middle Rhine Museum in Koblenz represents as a municipal art collection the cultural and artistic memory of the city of Koblenz from antiquity to the present.
The focus of the generously sized, approximately 1700 m2 permanent exhibition at the new Mittelrhein Museum is on the painting collection as well as the sculptural and decorative arts holdings. In chronological order, the span of the epoch halls ranges from medieval sculpture through the painting of the Middle Ages, Baroque, Classicism, and Romanticism, to representatives of the Düsseldorf School and Classical Modernism, including notable works by K. O. Götz, Rissa, and Heijo Hangen. In parallel to these art halls, visitors have the opportunity to learn about regional art and cultural historical aspects on the internal pathway. 400 paintings, 50 sculptures, 60 graphics, and various decorative art objects await the visitors.
