Over 60 historical buildings line the approximately 120 km long route between Bingen/Rüdesheim and Remagen/Unkel. Knight's castles, baroque palaces, and mighty fortresses are closely found here.
Many establishments are open to visitors – whether individually or as part of guided tours. Some also offer events, dining, or even overnight stays.

From the viewpoint 'Burgenblick', a wide view of the lower Middle Rhine Valley and the surrounding castles opens up. The Rheineck Castle (privately owned) can be seen to the south, the Arenfels Castle (event location) in Bad Hönnigen, and the Hammerstein Castle ruin to the south on the opposite bank of the Rhine.
