Wine tradition since 1779

At Scheidgen, tradition and progress are inseparable. This characterizes the philosophy of our house and the high quality of our wines. They are the result of the experience passed down from seven generations, the careful handling of cultivated land, the cultivation of old grape varieties, environmentally friendly and intensive work in the vineyard and the use of the most modern cellar technology. The good of yesterday and the best of today.

The modern main house of our estate with its characteristic pointed tower was built in 1984 in the course of the renovation of centuries-old cellars and winegrowers' buildings. Since 1779 and now seven generations, our name has stood for award-winning wines of high quality, which convince more and more wine connoisseurs and make them permanent friends of our house.

Our house is located at the foot of the castle ruin Hammerstein in the small winegrowing village of the same name in the northern Middle Rhine. With over 22 hectares of vineyards, we are now one of the larger and better known wineries in the Middle Rhine region.

Centuries-old walls and modern refrigeration and equipment design form a charming contrast and create an ideal atmosphere for wine presentations. The Scheidgen family and its employees are delighted about this.

Completed in 2017, the vinotheque opposite the main house combines tradition and the present in its successful architecture. It offers our customers and visitors a generous ambience to get to know and taste our wines.

Our vineyards and cultivation areas border directly on the house in Hammerstein. In addition, there are fantastic steep slopes below the castle and the Rheinbrohl Lay as well as further areas in Rheinbrohl and in the winegrowing village of Leutesdorf.
