Wülfersberger Kapelle
Im Mühlengretchen, 56566 Neuwied-Gladbach
The monastery Hof Wülfersberg, a women’s monastery, was founded as a filial monastery of the Abbey of Rommersdorf in the mid-12th century. In the 13th century, it gained independence but was dissolved in 1521 due to wars and inheritance disputes, with the nuns being distributed to other monasteries. The monastery reverted to the mother monastery, the Abbey of Rommersdorf, but was no longer used as a monastery. The chapel was severely damaged in the Thirty Years' War and fell into disrepair.
When the city of Neuwied acquired the site, it could be restored, and worship services are once again held there today.
