“Memories of Paraguay”

A guitarist who has been awarded in 25 international guitar competitions travels to Paraguay, where he performs in front of over 2,000 people after being awarded the “Premio Republica,” one of the most prestigious awards in Latin America. Luciano Pompilio not only interprets the compositions of the Paraguayan composer Agustin Pio Barrios Mangore, but also mixes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Alexander Tansman, and Mario Catelnuovo – Tedesco into his Bacharach program. After studying in Foggia, Italy, he is the first prize winner of the most prestigious duo guitar competition, the “Montelimar Competition” in France, releases 9 CDs, makes it into the iTunes charts, and tours through Europe, Asia, and America. We are excited to welcome for the first time a remarkable soloist to the Bacharach Master Concerts, who will present us with an exquisite program.
