DGS-Weinprobe
Mainzer Straße 45, 56322 Spay
The Mittelrhein Wine Association offers a wine tasting in German Sign Language (DGS) for the third time on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The event is specifically aimed at deaf and hard of hearing people and will take place starting at 4 p.m. at the Matthias Müller winery in Spay.
After successful events in 2023 and 2024, the association continues its commitment to greater accessibility and participation in wine tourism. Participants can look forward to a varied tasting of five selected wines from the entire Mittelrhein growing area. The selection provides a representative insight into the diversity and quality of the regional wines.
A special contribution will also be made by the reigning Mittelrhein wine queens Janina, Jill, and Anna: Each of them will present a wine and offer personal insights into its characteristics. For the trio, the wine tasting will also be one of the last official appointments of their term. This will end two weeks later with the election of the new Mittelrhein wine queens on November 6, 2026, in Rhöndorf.
The entire wine tasting will be accompanied by experienced and certified interpreters for German Sign Language. The interpreter team includes, among others, a former Mittelrhein wine princess and a winemaker's wife, both of whom are closely connected to the wine region.
The participation fee of 45 euros includes the tasting of five wines, mineral water, and a snack platter – vegetarian options available upon request.
Since the number of participants is limited, early registration is recommended.
