Fragrances, aromas, and exciting stories from the world of spices await visitors at the Lahnstein city library. Under the title "An Evening Full of Spices – A Journey Through the World of Aromas," Florian Schauren takes guests on a delightful journey through the kitchens of the Orient and the Caucasus.

The gastronomic director of Kloster Arenberg and cookbook author transports participants into the culinary traditions of Turkey, Georgia, the Caucasus, Azerbaijan, and Iran. Using impressive images from his book "Saffron, Sumac, Paprika," he shares stories from his travels and about the special spices, aromas, and cooking cultures of various regions.

The evening combines a varied cooking lecture with practical experiences. Florian Schauren conveys interesting facts about the origin, effects, and uses of exotic spices as well as traditional preparation methods and provides numerous tips for home kitchens.

It won't just be theory: In an interactive cooking workshop, guests can actively participate and cook typical dishes together.

Homemade snacks and suitable drinks invite everyone to experience the diversity of the Oriental and Caucasian cuisine with all senses and enjoy the evening in a cozy atmosphere.
