In a comprehensive retrospective, central work groups from several creative phases of the Rhineland-Palatinate artist Werner Bitzigeio from Winterspelt in the Eifel are presented. The focus is on the interaction of sculpture, space, and material, especially Bitzigeio's characteristic works made of iron wire, which engage in a special dialogue with the historical site of the iron industry in Sayn. The exhibition utilizes both indoor spaces and outdoor areas of the Sayner Hütte, thus entering into a compelling dialogue between art and industrial architecture on one hand and the materiality of iron wire and cast iron on the other. Particularly the large, walk-in wire sculptures fascinate and open new perspectives on the memorial area.
