From 07.06.2026 until the 25.10.2026
Führung Histor. Kirchen- und Religionsgemeinschaften
Schlossstraße 1, 56564 Neuwied
Description of the tour:
Since the founding of the city in 1653, many religious communities from all over Europe moved to Neuwied, as they were assured by the local counts of the free practice of their confessions. In addition to the official Reformed community, Mennonites, Lutherans, Catholics, Moravians, Inspired, Jews, and many smaller groups settled in Neuwied, contributing to a significant economic upswing in this small residence city, which, due to frequent Rhine floods, was not very favorably located. During a tour lasting about 1.5 hours, the churches still present in the city center and the memorial of the synagogue will be visited. The theological agreements and contrasts will also be addressed.
Participant fee: Adults 6 euros, youths between 6 and 14 years 4 euros, children under 6 years free
