International barrel organ festival
Altstadt Linz am Rhein, 53545 Linz am Rhein
In Linz, the crank and twist are happening again
When in the "Colorful Town on the Rhine" the rollers start turning again and wooden pipes trill in competition, the International Organ Festival is taking place.
Around Ascension Day, the "Colorful Town on the Rhine" brings beloved old traditions back to life with the International Organ Festival. Different organ players from Germany, Austria, Norway, and Switzerland will immerse the historic old town in a nostalgic mood on May 14, May 16, each from 10 a.m. and May 17 from 10:30 a.m. Almost everything can be heard, from ballads to Berlin tunes to Cologne sounds.
A special highlight is the charity concert "Organs in Classical Concert," as the unique acoustics of the beautiful, old St. Martin Church harmonize perfectly with the classical sounds of the historical organs. An event with a very special charm.
The event "Organs in Classical Concert" will take place on May 15 at 5 p.m. in the St. Martin Church. Admission is free; however, the organ players kindly request a donation for a good cause.
