Internationales Drehorgelfestival
53545 Linz am Rhein
In Linz, the wheels are turning once again
The International Barrel Organ Festival will be held in the "Colourful City on the Rhine" when the rollers turn and the wooden pipes trill again.
Around Ascension Day, the "Colourful City on the Rhine" will revive old, cherished traditions with the International Barrel Organ Festival. Different barrel organ players from Germany, Austria, Norway and Switzerland will put the historic old town in a nostalgic mood on 9, 11 and 12 May, starting at 10 am each day. Almost everything can be heard, from moritaten to Berlin Zille and kölsche Tön.
A special highlight is the benefit concert "barrel organs in classical concert", because the special acoustics of the beautiful old St. Martin's Church harmonise perfectly with the classical sounds of the historic barrel organs. An event with a very special charm.
The event "Barrel organs in classical concert" will take place on 10 May at 5 pm in St Martin's Church. Admission is free, but the barrel organ players ask for a donation for a good cause.
Parallel to the barrel organ festival, there will be the traditional presentations by the Linz Volunteer Fire Brigade and the German Red Cross on Thursday, 9 May on the market square. The physical well-being will be well catered for on site.
