Lichtbildvortrag: Die kleine Stadt am großen Strom
Rathausstraße 8, 56338 Braubach
The focus of the slide presentation is on the pre- and early urban development of the town of Braubach in the Middle Ages. The city, conveniently located on the Middle Rhine below the castle of the same name, developed impressive economic activities starting from the 13th century. In comparison to neighboring urban centers, Braubach was able to hold its own, not least due to its territorial incorporation into the territory of the Counts of Katzenelnbogen. To this day, the topography of the city is traceable and can be excellently integrated into the overall picture of the Middle Rhine urban landscape.
The speaker: Dr. Jens Friedhoff (Director of the City Archive Hachenburg and Research Associate at the European Castle Institute, Braubach)
