Rheinsteig Glühwein-Wanderung
Winzerweg 1, 56348 Bornich
The winegrowing cooperative Loreley Bornich is organizing, together with Loreley Touristik GmbH, the 19th mulled wine hike on the Rheinsteig. It starts at the Bornicher Winzerkeller at 2:00 PM. There are plenty of parking spaces available for hikers at and around the winemaker’s cellar. Loreley Katharina welcomes the guests in Bornich.
The route leads from the winemaker’s cellar in Bornich on a new path to the Loreley plateau, then through the Bornich vineyards along the wine education trail on the Rheinsteig to the lookout point Spitznack. Along this route, guests can expect a magnificent view of the Rhine Valley before heading to the mulled wine station at the Rheinsteigrast at Leiselfeld.
The hikers will be generously supplied by the organizing team with homemade winemaker’s mulled wine made from Bornich wines. For drivers and children, non-alcoholic punch will be available. Participants are also welcome to bring their own cups or mugs for serving.
Regina and Heinz Baumert from the Rheinsteig-Rast kindly support the tour and provide toilet facilities and electricity. The tour then returns, depending on the weather, via the serpentine path or along the Rheinsteig past the 5-Seen-Platz to the Bornicher Winzerkeller.
With a stop at the mulled wine station Rheinsteig-Rast, the guided hike lasts about 3 hours.
As always, Thomas Bonn and his team take care of the rustic winemaker’s roast in the winemaker’s hall, while Andi Becker is responsible for the delicious grilled sausage.
At the large wine counter, Burkhard Becker and his team offer the extensive range of wines from Loreley winemakers, as well as the mulled wine made from Bornich wines according to an old family recipe.
It is certain that the tour will take place in any weather. Sturdy footwear and a good mood are certainly very helpful for success. Participation is free. No special registration is required.
