Under the title “Sound Magic of Romanticism,” the Roentgen Museum in Neuwied invites you to a special song evening in the museum's festival hall on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

The program features works by Clara Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Edvard Grieg, and Richard Strauss – four composers whose music reflects the fascinating development of the art song from the 19th to the early 20th century.

The evening will be presented by soprano Heidi Klusmeier and pianist András Orbán. Together, they will dedicate themselves to masterpieces of Romanticism and Late Romanticism, bringing the entire range of these musical epochs to life: from intimate, song-like sound language to the colorful and harmonically expanded expressive possibilities of Late Romanticism.
Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms shared not only a close friendship but also a deep connection with musical tradition and classical formal understanding.
With Edvard Grieg and Richard Strauss, they encounter two composers who each expanded these boundaries in their own unique ways, exploring new harmonic and tonal possibilities for voice and piano.
