As part of the campaign "Orange The World 2026," the Equal Opportunities Office of the Rhein-Lahn district and the Youth Cultural Center Lahnstein are offering a self-defense course specifically for women.

"Violence against women is one of the most common human rights violations worldwide. With this offer, we are making a clear statement against violence and for the empowerment of women," emphasize the organizers. The goal is to empower women to defend themselves in situations of assault, to exercise their rights to (sexual) self-determination, and to demand and demonstrate respect and dignity.

The course is aimed at women of all ages and teaches practical techniques for physical self-defense. Participants will learn to move safely, strengthen their agency, and use effective tools to respond confidently in uncomfortable or threatening situations and to protect themselves better.

The workshop covers, among other things, the use of one's voice for defense, self-defense options in different situations, defending against physical attacks, as well as the early recognition of threatening situations and appropriate actions.

Note: The number of participants is limited to 14 people. Early registration is therefore recommended.
