In its 35th year, the theater group INFLAGRANTI presents a fresh version of the Commedia dell'arte classic "The Servant of Two Masters" by Carlo Goldoni, showcasing a fast-paced play at the Rommersdorf Abbey. The production captivates with cheeky, expressive characters from the world of Italian character theater and plenty of playful wit. All 10 Inflagranti actors bring the 280-year-old material to life with their quick-witted performance joy. Carlo Goldoni's witty comedy is set in the author's hometown, Venice, where everything revolves around lucrative deals, stinginess and greed, marriage intrigues, and love affairs in its labyrinthine alleys and canals. The typical Commedia dell'arte characters, such as the domineering "Dottore" (Rainer Neuendorff) and the business-savvy "Pantalone" (Werner Derießen), try to increase their wealth by arranging marriages for their children, when a supposedly deceased groom "Federico Rasponi from Turin" (Menia Ohrem) unexpectedly appears in Venice. The greedy Pantalone sees in the mysterious young man an even more lucrative match for his stubborn daughter Clarice (Bettina Bleidt), driving the self-absorbed Dottore to fury and leaving his rejected groom Silvio (Elmar Deuster) in a state of mournful despair. But there is hope for the lovers, Clarice and Silvio, as Truffaldino (Sebastian Schilasky), the witty and quick-witted servant, introduces a second strange foreign gentleman (Thomas Weber) who is searching for his bride Beatrice. Whether everything will be resolved in the end and in what absurd way the "Servant of Two Masters" disentangles himself from the chaos he created remains to be seen by the Inflagranti audience starting with the premiere on September 12th...

As in every year, the volunteer-based Inflagranti group and the Inflagranti band support a social project in our region with donations. This year's purpose of the donations will be announced later.

The performances will take place at Rommersdorf Abbey on September 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, and 19, 2025.
