For three days, during the first weekend in October, from October 2 to October 5, wine is the focus of this joyful festival. In the Rheinanlagen of Braubach, winemakers and innkeepers offer the best from kitchen and cellar. The official opening starts on Friday at 6.00 p.m. Afterwards, it is time to celebrate with good wine and great music.
On Saturday, the wine fountains open at 3.00 p.m. Accompanied by the Braubach Wine Queen Ronja I. with her princesses and Bacchus Jan I. with his retinue, a torchlight procession will wind through the city in the evening, supported by the historical citizen militia.
Afterwards, the city mayor will ceremonially hand over the keys to Bacchus Jan I., who, along with his Bacchantes and the cupbearer, will rule the city for three days. A spectacular fireworks display and live music will set the mood for a celebration deep into the night.
Sunday begins at 10.00 a.m. with an ecumenical service. From 11.00 a.m. everyone is invited to a Frühschoppen concert. The highlight will be the winemaker's parade on Sunday at 2.00 p.m. Numerous foot groups and festival floats, accompanied by music bands, will be part of the spectacle. Starting at 4.00 p.m., there will be live music on stage.
On Monday, the wine stands will open at 11.00 a.m. In the afternoon, children can look forward to an exciting program. At 5.00 p.m., the thrilling Bacchus Rally will take place, in which everyone can participate. Afterwards, the evening can be enjoyed with wine and good music.
