On Thursday, 12 September 2024, the traditional wine market in Oberwesel opens its doors. The traditional festival around the wine promotes noble drops from the region. Winegrowers and wine witches invite visitors from near and far to the happy wine market hustle and bustle on the Oberwesel market square. There will be plenty of food and drink. The program promises the best entertainment for visitors and guests. Concerts of the different associations from Oberwesel and surroundings provide already in the afternoon for musical entertainment. Together with Rhine in Flames, the wine market is the crowd puller in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage Site! In the historic ambience of the market square, winegrowers have set up their wine arbors, which give the festival its special character. Take advantage of the selection of over 150 differently grown, noblest qualities from the Middle Rhine and taste and enjoy the best drops that our winegrowers have to offer. A colorful and varied supporting program on all days guarantees an entertaining and exuberant atmosphere. A special highlight is also the traditional big parade on Wine Market Sunday. The winegrowers come up with a special motto every year. For quite some time beforehand, they hammer and build in order to realize the sketches. On Sunday from 3 p.m. the result of the construction work can be seen in the big parade.
