The basalt lava sculpture "Cut" is a three-part ground sculpture that stretches along a line of about ten meters on a lawn area. At first glance, the three differently sized basalt boulders appear to be natural rocks, on which no grass grows. Only upon a second glance does the sculptural intervention reveal itself to the viewer: angular shapes, openings, and hollows make the interior of the boulders visible. The naturally grown stone is segmented and shaped inside, as if cut with a knife. The artistic intervention clearly contrasts geometrically with the amorphous natural form, leaving a trace that connects all three stones with each other.
