Opened in 1783 as the first municipal, interdenominational cemetery, numerous historically valuable monuments have been preserved here. Well-known families from Neuwied have found their final resting places here, such as Siegert, Remy, Gaddum, Reinhardt, Bianchi, Buchholtz, or Ingenohl. Among them are also many personalities who have gained significance beyond the region.
As part of a guided tour lasting approximately 1.5 hours, these families, as well as the diverse symbolism of their tombstones, will be discussed in detail.
During this tour, you will also have the opportunity to visit the cemetery gardener's house from the inside.
