Opened in 1783 as the first municipal, cross-confessional cemetery, it has preserved numerous historically valuable monuments. Well-known families from Neuwied have found their final resting places here, such as Siegert, Remy, Gaddum, Reinhardt, Bianchi, Buchholtz, and Ingenohl. Among them are many personalities who gained significance beyond the region.
During a guided tour lasting approximately 1.5 hours, these families will be extensively discussed, as well as the diverse symbolism of their gravestones.
