City rally showcases the fair side of Linz am Rhein

How fair is Linz am Rhein? Which companies and initiatives in our city are already working to make our actions more sustainable? What opportunities does each individual have to contribute to this in their everyday lives? Answers to these questions can be found in a city rally across Linz am Rhein as part of the nationwide Fair Week.

Linz am Rhein. From 12 to 27 September, interested parties can go on a discovery tour and get to know companies and initiatives that operate sustainably – whether alone, in groups or as a school class. At a total of nine stations, they will learn more about sustainability, how fair trade contributes to better living and working conditions, and why organic and regional products are better for the climate and the environment. In addition to the Weltladen and the city of Linz am Rhein, companies that stand out for their traditional craftsmanship, regionality and/or fair trade are also participating. Citizens can see for themselves how this works, as the rally playfully demonstrates the responsibility we all have to ensure that everyone can enjoy a good life – not only in Linz am Rhein, but also in the Global South.

The official starting signal will be given on Friday, 12 September at 11 a.m. on Linz's market square. The city rally can be completed until 27 September inclusive, even outside opening hours. Signs or information in shop windows and on information pillars will help you find the right answers. Here's how the city rally works: Visit the stations in any order and solve small tasks there. Write your answer directly in your rally pass under the question at each station. Once you have solved all the tasks or visited all the stations, you can take part in our competition and win one of 20 Linz gift bags filled with fair trade, regional and Linz surprises. To enter, drop your completed pass, including your contact details, into the letterbox at the historic town hall by 3 October 2025 or hand it in at the Linz Tourist Information Office. The city of Linz, together with the Fair Trade Steering Group, will determine the winners of the competition and notify them in mid-October 2024. The decision is final.
