Opened in 1783 as the first municipal, interdenominational cemetery, numerous historically valuable monuments have been preserved here. Well-known Neuwied families have found their final resting places here, such as Siegert, Remy, Gaddum, Reinhardt, Bianchi, Buchholtz and Ingenohl. Among them are also many personalities who have gained importance beyond the region.
During a 1.5-hour guided tour, these families and the diverse symbolism of their gravestones are explained in detail.
