„Gebrauchsanweisung für Wein“
Rathausstr. 23, 55430 Oberwesel
Concrete wine knowledge, presented in an entertaining way: This will take place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 7 PM in the Klostergarten Oberwesel, with Carsten Henn, one of the most renowned wine experts and bestselling authors (including “Der Buchspazierer”). Guests can expect a delightful evening accompanied by a sparkling wine, five wines, and cheese.
Carsten Henn is well-traveled in the world of wine, bottles are stacked in his cellar, and he is considered one of the best wine connoisseurs in Germany. However, he does not only drink wine; he also presents his knowledge in a solid and entertaining manner in books.
Bestselling author and recognized wine expert
In the unique atmosphere of the Klostergarten, he will read from his new book “User’s Guide to Wine.” In his amusing journey through the world of wine, he deals with grape varieties, barrique barrels, and screw caps, wine colors, and bottle shapes. He discusses organic and trendy wines, the rosé boom, but also inflated prices and quirky encounters – such as a visit to the most prestigious winery in the world.
An evening for connoisseurs, professionals, and beginners
With personal anecdotes sprinkled throughout, Henn explains what his phone knows about wine and why some wines – like some people – mature and improve over the years. A wonderful evening for everyone who wants to learn more about wine, whether as a beginner or as an experienced connoisseur.
The entry fee is 38 euros, including reading, wine tasting (1 sparkling wine, 5 wines), and cheese. Tickets are available at the Kulturhaus and online at www.kulturhaus-oberwesel.de; at all Ticket Regional outlets and all advance sales points, such as the Tourist Info Oberwesel.
Should the weather not cooperate, the event will take place in the Kulturhaus.
