Since 2009, Tango Argentino has officially been part of UNESCO's intangible world cultural heritage - and not without good reason, in our opinion. Its history shows that very different people, cultures and even religions can come together and form something common, global and unifying. With his tango nuevo, Astor Piazzolla brought the tango out of the smoky parlours and onto the world's most important concert stages. The success of his music can be explained by the rare combination of emotionally gripping naturalness and a high degree of compositional control. However, his origins away from the polished parquet floors can still be felt in the sounds.
