The kickoff is marked by the new, cozy gourmet market beneath the Hexenturm. In a festive atmosphere, visitors can look forward to grill specialties, sweet and savory treats, aromatic winemaker mulled wine, and other winter delicacies during the first and second Advent weekends. A highlight is the mulled wine hike with local guides from Lahnstein, who, while touring the festively lit old town, share regional anecdotes and serve mulled wine at several stations.
On the weekend of St. Nicholas, the traditional Nicholas market opens its doors on Salhofplatz. Formally inaugurated by St. Nicholas and the mayor, it invites visitors to stroll around with lovingly decorated stalls.
Children can look forward to surprises, creative participation activities, and the visit from St. Nicholas. The popular group singing also ensures a cheerful atmosphere. In addition to handicrafts and specialties, the gourmet market remains open into the evening hours.
