Rheinvokal - Bei Bach zuhause

Alte Schlossstraße 2, 56566 Neuwied-Engers

Boppard, St. Pankratius Parish Church, Friday, 31.07.2026 7:00 PM At Home with Bach In the enchanting Baroque church of St. Pankratius high above Boppard, three Bach specialists invite you to a house concert. For years, the Styrian tenor Daniel Johannsen has been among the best evangelists in the Bach passions. Countless are his performances in Bach's oratorios and cantatas. His radiant tenor voice and lively declamation make him the ideal interpreter of intimate Bach arias, but also a deeply moving exponent of those psalm settings with which Bach’s son Carl Philipp inspired the pious Hamburgers to devotion. Alexander Grychtolik has made a name for himself as a conductor and musicologist, mainly with reconstructed Bach cantatas and oratorios. In a duo with his wife Aleksandra Grychtolik, he shines at two harpsichords in brilliant works by father and son Bach as well as in stylistically appropriate improvisations. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach: Gellert Songs and Cramer Psalms, Wq 196 (“To God”, Psalms 6, 65, 67, 96, 116 and 130) Johann Sebastian Bach: Aria “Help Jesus Help” from the Cantata BWV 147 Recitative and Aria of Endymion from the Hunting Cantata, BWV 208 Georg Friedrich Händel: “Cecilia, turn a glance”, HWV 89 Works for one to two harpsichords by J. S. Bach and C. P. E. Bach Baroque Improvisations Daniel Johannsen, tenor Aleksandra and Alexander Grychtolik, harpsichord Room plan booking via Villa Musica
