Sammeltassencafé mit Bilderschau
Rathausstr. 23, 55430 Oberwesel
The collectible plate storytelling café on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 3 PM focuses on old black-and-white city views from Boppard to Lorch. Hans-Peter Schmitt has put together an interesting and entertaining presentation with over 100 historical photos from the good old days.
These include panoramic shots of the towns along the Rhine. There’s also a glimpse into everyday life, such as the fair festivities "Auf’m Balz" in 1910 in Boppard, the work on a major rockfall about 100 years ago in St. Goar, Oberwesel around 1907 with the railway facilities at the old harbor, or the view through the Steeger Tor (Bacharach), which is currently being crossed by an ox team.
The presentation also includes a small sensation, as it provides proof that there once was a bridge from St. Goar to St. Goarshausen. Visitors will learn what it looked like at the collectible plate storytelling café.
Guests can look forward to an entertaining afternoon with coffee and cake. Please don't forget the collectible plate setting.
Admission costs 10 Euros (including coffee & cake). Tickets are available at the Kulturhaus Oberwesel (Rathausstr. 23) as well as online at www.kulturhaus-oberwesel.de, through Ticket Regional, and at advance sales points, such as the Tourist Info Oberwesel.
All info is also available at: www.kulturhaus-oberwesel.de
