The Trenz winery in Johannisberg cultivates almost 15 hectares in the Rheingau.

In 2008, Michael Trenz was named "Discovery of the Year" by Gault Millau. The majority of the vines grow at altitude in Johannisberg, on barren and stony Taunus quartzite soils with a humus layer of only 10 cm. This is what produces the mineral Rieslings so typical of the Trenz estate. The Riesling vines, which are over 50 years old and from which he presses his pride and joy, the Johannisberger Riesling ALTE REBEN, are of great importance to Michael Trenz. Michael Trenz is the only winemaker in the region to have owned 2 hectares of vineyards in Stellenbosch, South Africa, for more than 10 years. Shiraz, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec grow here. A huge wish came true to produce an intensely spicy and powerful red wine cuveé, the Trenz 2two. With the 2014 vintage, the Trenz winery is vinifying a white Trenz 2two for the first time, made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The winery also owns the Trenz estate bar, which serves regional specialties to match the wines. When the weather is fine, the Mediterranean courtyard offers space for 90 people. For private events such as weddings and birthdays, but also for company events, you can hire the entire estate bar, the inner courtyard and/or the vaulted cellar.
