On the Romantic Rhine section of the Rhine Cycle Route there are virtually no steep gradients. For e-bike riders there are also lots of opportunities beyond the Rhine Cycle Route itself. With the extra boost of an electric motor, it’s fun and easy to explore the hilltop castles, the uplands of the nearby Westerwald, Taunus, Hunsrück and Eifel and the side valleys of the Rhine. It’s reassuring to know that there’s now an extensive network of public charging stations and recharging facilities along the Rhine Cycle Route: at tourist information offices, for example.
