Finissage of the art exhibition SONIC CANVAS – Contemporary painting by Nikka Wood meets photography by Thomas Rabsch with live concert by the band Weichspieler

The art exhibition combines two artistic positions that, in different ways, share the same origin: music. While Nikka Wood, with her project I PAINT MUSIC, has been translating songs and concert experiences into vibrant painting for years, Thomas Rabsch, one of Germany's most renowned band and concert photographers, captures the energy of moments with his camera.

Iconic images of musicians and bands such as Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Jane Birkin, Slash (among others Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver), James Hetfield (Metallica), Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), Blixa Bargeld (Einstürzende Neubauten) and many more collide at SONIC CANVAS with pulsating fields of color that reach into the space like riffs and rhythms. Together, the works open a dialogue that appeals equally to art enthusiasts and music lovers.

The art exhibition SONIC CANVAS (opening: November 8, 2025) will be accompanied by music throughout its run: A specially curated playlist makes the connection between image and sound immediately tangible.

At the end, the finissage will take place on November 29, 2025, featuring a special highlight in the evening: a concert by the band Weichspieler. The duo is known for atmospheric indie-pop sounds that oscillate between melancholy and lightness, perfectly fitting into the exhibition's theme. Their music creates a dense atmosphere that adds a sonic layer to the visual impressions of the exhibition and rounds off the overall experience.
