Genusswanderung "Cherry meets honey" den Traumpaar auf der Spur

The focus of the hike with cherry expert Frank Böwingloh and hobby beekeeper Stefanie Schneider is the close relationship between the royal fruit and its pollinators on the local orchards and in the garden. Listen to the exciting stories about the long tradition of cherry cultivation on the Middle Rhine and the development of the unique variety of cherries along the Cherry Trail. Learn more about the variety collection in Filsen, as part of the German Fruit Gene Bank, and about the importance of honeybees, native wild bees and bumblebees for the fruit harvest. What can we do for wild bees, honey bees and the like and what impact is their decline having on our lives? In the bee experience field of the beekeeping company Schneider from Filsen, we get an exciting insight into the (super)organism bee and the big buzzing whole. Are you already familiar with the delicious, fruity combination "cherry meets honey" from Filsen? Products from both worlds can be perfectly combined to create something surprisingly new. Small culinary delicacies from the rare varieties of Middle Rhine cherry and Filsen honey will be served at four tasting stations.
