Let's hike together and enjoy a beautiful landscape with the rare cherry varieties of the Middle Rhine Valley. Experience the unique diversity of varieties and the importance of the collection of the "German Cherry Genebank" in Filsen from our series of events "Sweet delicacies from Filsen". Most of the more than 80 cherry varieties are no longer cultivated and can therefore no longer be purchased. In 2021, Slow Food Deutschland e.V. has included the "Traditional Cherry Varieties from the Upper Middle Rhine Valley" as an Ark Passenger in an attempt to save them from oblivion. This is a unique opportunity to explore this World Heritage treasure. As we walk along the Filsen Cherry Trail, our cherry expert Frank Böwingloh tells exciting stories and takes you on surprising taste experiences at various tasting stations. Various drinks, tastings and creative finger food made from Middle Rhine cherries await you there. The Filsen village store will be open after the event for you to purchase Middle Rhine cherry products!
