Since 1887, the first grapes have been grown on the agricultural mixed farm of that time. Willi Ems further refined the art of viticulture until Wilhelm Post took over the now pure wine-growing operation in the early seventies. Since 2004, his sons Ralph and Markus have been running the vineyard, which at that time was 8 hectares in size. As trained wine technicians and graduates in engineering (viticulture and oenology), they now operate the estate at the highest professional level and with modern means.

Nevertheless, the winery is a true family business, where the parents are still active. Three generations live under one roof on the farm, which is helpful, as sometimes a few more hands are needed – with now 19 hectares of vineyard area. These are located in well-known Eltville sites such as Sonnenberg, Kalbspflicht, Taubenberg, or Langenstück but also in sites of neighboring communities, like Kiedricher Sandgrub and Rauenthaler Steinmächer.

In our modern wine store, you'll find elegant, fine-fruit Riesling wines, spritzy Spätburgunder Weißherbst, as well as partially barrel-aged red wines, currently exclusively Spätburgunder. Additionally, you can relax while tasting our wines of the varieties Grauburgunder and Roter Riesling. Since the 2020 vintage, we also have a wine of the grape variety Scheurebe in our portfolio. A fruity, dry summer wine from the variety often referred to as "German Sauvignon Blanc"!
In the cultivation of the grapes as well as in the development of the wines and sparkling wines, we follow old family traditions, utilize modern methods, and consider ecological aspects, thus we almost completely refrain from using glyphosate. A model whose success you can recognize through numerous awards.
At the Hessian State Wine Award 2025, all our wines received a prize medal, including 5 gold ones – this places us among the top in the Rheingau. We have already reached the top five times and received the titles "Best Weißherbst in Hesse" (2007, 2008, 2012, and 2014) and "Best Sparkling Wine in Hesse" (2009).
