Our winery has been in existence since the year 1918 and cultivates vineyards in Eltville and the surrounding area. The area under vine currently amounts to about 6.5 hectares and, as is typical for the Rheingau, is predominantly planted with Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris. The wines are fermented in tank or traditionally aged in wooden casks and prefer to be bottled dry.
Since 1985, we have been working according to the guidelines of organic viticulture. This means, among other things, the renunciation of chemical-synthetic plant protection products, herbicides, and artificial fertilizers. Instead, we work with teas and compost, as well as a diverse cover crop with a rich population of beneficial insects. As a certified ECOVIN operation, we are audited annually by an independent inspection body.
